Reports
L&BBFC BDS Vs Kempsey Colts U6's
Saturday 8th October
2011
The L&BBFC Boys Development Squad hosted their Kempsey
Colts counterparts in a friendly encounter played at a bright and sunny
Ralph's Field Stadium.
The youngsters took part in a series of sessions that gave all
who attended a chance to learn, play, and experience the joy of
participating in a structured game against another
club.
Playing according to mini soccer rules, and with a great sense
of fair play and respect, the youngsters all acquitted themselves
admirably, providing great entertainment for the very supportive parents
watching from the sidelines.
There were many glimpses of great individual skill and
understanding as youngsters demonstrated their abilities. Both teams had
their chances, but it was the Colts who managed to tuck theirs away as
they ended the sessions with two 1-0 wins and two 0-0 draws. As for the
Badgers, they came up against a Colts's 'keeper who was in fine form to
deny them on several occasions.
To round off the morning sessions, both sides each took part
in a penalty shoot out, where again the Colt's 'keeper proved the
difference acrobatically saving several keenly taken spot
kicks.
Afterwards, L&BBFC BDS Coach, Bosko Medakovic claimed,
'these sessions proved most enjoyable to all concerned, the youngsters had
a great time and, what pleased me the most, was the manner in which both
sides competed. Respect and fair play was evident throughout as these
young footballers proved a credit to their clubs. Well done everyone!'
