Introduction

As an FA Charter Standard Club, L&BBFC, acknowledges it’s role as a grass roots football club serving those within it’s community. In doing so, the club is keen to work with relevant partners in promoting the game and club, enabling greater access for those interested, both within the club and it’s wider community.

We want to get as many children and adults involved in football and by using resources available to us, we hope to engage with various partners in bringing football to the wider community on a ‘football for fun’ theme, to include specific areas such as Girls’ Football, Futsal, and Womens’ Football, among others.

 Community Links

LBBFC hopes to be able to continue to work alongside other community groups and providers in the delivery of football initiatives. For example, in one of the Club’s first ever community ventures, the Club teamed up with the Worcestershire FA and Malvern Hills District Council in a bid to help make football more accessible to youngsters, by providing after school coaching sessions at Sport Dyson Perrins in Malvern.

In addition, the Club has for several years been regularly helping with fundraising and entertainment through soccer challenges, at the long running and very popular Alfrick & Lulsley Show. This annual country show event attracts several thousand visitors each year, with the proceeds from the day being distributed to many local needy causes.

Local Schools’ Links

In teaming up with various partners L&BBFC has been active in bringing football into local schools. For example, in our very first school links initiative, the Club introduced students at Leigh & Bransford Primary School, Somers Park Primary School, Powick Primary School, Northleigh Primary School, St Mathias Primary School, and Rushwick Primary School to the popular South American game of Futsal.

In addition, the club has also been delivering coaching session to girls in several primary schools, as well as sessions for mixed U8’s groups, and also introducing Futsal to young women in sixth form education.
We are keen to nurture these links further, and to expand them where possible to include many other local schools. By promoting the game in this way, we not only want to increase participation in schools, but also outside of this by offering youngsters the chance to fulfill their footballing aspirations via the club’s well established outlets.
